A lot has been happening in my life. Doing my UC apps made me realize.. I really don't want to be here. I don't know if that's enough motivation to slog through the rest of the year, but yeah. We'll see

lol... I camped out for Black Friday with quoc and his friends/relatives, it was crazy. The line to frys wrapped around the whole building. The whole thing seemed ridiculous. There were a lot of Asians there.

Quoc befriended the group of Chinese kids next to us and they turned out to be super fun. They taught us how to play mahjong; then we played poker, blackjack, and SPOONS. The loser of spoons had to do dares... I was the first one to lose, and they made me ask for a girl's number. The girls at the table directed me to a girl in a striped sweater. "She's pretty cute," one of them said. "Go ask her!"

So I approached the girl and asked as innocently as I could, but immediately the woman next to her (presumably her older sister) gives me the death stare. "Look me in the eyes, right here. Don't even consider it. She's twelve."  :O

So we stopped doing dares

It turned out camping out was completely useless. At around 3:30 (Frys was set to oepn at 5), people started running up to the front. There was a huge snowball effect and pretty soon everybody was sprinting, trying to secure a place in the new line. Some used shopping carts to bully their way through and blockade the area off from any deviant cutters. It was a mad rush; it was chill though, the Chinese kids secured us a spot in line while we cleaned up. We were set.

By opening, the lined had malformed into a writhing mass hungry for great deals. It was utter chaos. You couldn't move independently-- you were subject to the ebb and flow of the crowd. A group of salty middle aged people tried to stifle the stampede by linking hands together. "CALM THE FUCK DOWN! YOU PEOPLE ARE SO FUCKING IMMATURE!" Shrieked an OC housewife, retaliating against the crowd with dirty looks and flying elbows. Eventually the protests broke down under the weight of the prevailing anarchy. I guess it became apparent that diplomacy was useless when a 300$ laptop was on the line.

The store was stressful. The hot items ran out within minutes. The cash registers were on the fritz. I barely got anything I wanted. I don't think I'd ever want to go again.

Still, it was a really fun experience and I'm happy that I went. I can file the experience in my head for future use.

It's one of those must-experience things in life, I'm sure.
